Emergencies happen when you least expect them, and when they do, Lakeland Regional Health is ready to provide expert, compassionate care — fast.
Whether it’s a sudden illness, injury, or a critical health concern, LRH’s award-winning emergency services ensure patients receive the highest level of care when they need it most.
“Our expert team provides a nationally recognized continuum of care, ensuring patients receive the best treatment from the moment they arrive through our doors to recovery and beyond,” said Dr. James Melton, Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Plus, LRH has a vast network of specialists available for patients should they need further treatment.
Main emergency department
The main emergency department is recognized nationwide for its excellence in patient care, offering advanced, life-saving treatments with efficiency and expertise.
With a commitment to innovation and compassion, the dedicated emergency team provides expert medical attention around the clock, giving patients peace of mind in critical moments.
George W. Jenkins Children’s Emergency Department
Designed with children in mind, the George W. Jenkins Children’s Emergency Department, located in the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children, offers a child-friendly environment where young patients receive specialized pediatric care.
This 33-bed facility includes activities to keep children engaged while they receive expert treatment from pediatric professionals.
Freestanding Emergency Department: Opening March 10
Bringing emergency care even closer to south Lakeland, LRH’s new Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) — located at the corner at 540A and S. Florida Ave. — will offer expert emergency services for both adults and children.
“Our freestanding emergency department offers patients a convenient location in south Lakeland to receive our award-winning emergency care — plus, if patients need further treatment, they are only minutes from our medical center,” said Dr. Fred J. Blind with the Emergency Department. “We don’t think patients should have to be transported all over the area to receive care, especially in an emergency.”
LRH is community grown and nationally known
“I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients in the ED for decades, and it’s been incredible to witness LRH’s response to the growing needs of the community,” Dr. Melton added. “Our newest freestanding ED will provide the same excellence and comprehensive resources that define our health system.”
For 100+ years, Lakeland Regional Health has been dedicated to serving our community with award-winning emergency care. Now, with expanded services, patients can count on expert, life-saving treatment — wherever they are.
