Lakeland nine-year-old Kaylee Rivas had her Christmas wish grantedbut not by Santa Claus. She wanted to give 100 stuffed animals to residents at Scott Lake Health and Rehabilitation, a new short-term and long-term care facility in south Lakeland, so her mother Amanda put out a call on Facebook for community donations.

When Morgan and Gabriella Bridges saw the post, they knew they could help Kaylee’s cause. The sisters gathered 100 plushies to donate from their own collection. According to Kaylee’s mom, there were plenty of happy tears when the two strangers dropped off such a large donation to make her dream come true.

Residents are in for a treat when Kaylee drops off the stuffed animals at Scott Lake Health and Rehabilitation. She plans on donating them on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. while caroling. Way to go, Kaylee, Morgan, and Gabriella.
