Over the last three seasons, the Detroit Tigers have jumped further into analytics, improving technology and the overall fan experience.

More recently, as in this past February, early morning bullpen sessions involved five sensors stationed between the mound and home that compiled data (such as spin rate, tilt break, release point, weight balance) on every pitch in slow motion and provided instant feedback via tablets. This has allowed the team to improve on what they have immediate control over, such as not being too much on their toes + finding better balance.

The Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium widely enhances the current game-day experience. Having recently been named the best Grapefruit League ballpark of 2019 in the annual Ballpark Digest Best of the Ballparks, it’s all the reason to celebrate it even more. The field includes an LED HD video display and scoreboard. Beneath left field sits the Berm Bar – offering seating, picnic tables, and a ticketed 120-foot drink rail – next to playground centered around a Tiger-themed bounce house.

The renovated clubhouses are outfitted with some of today’s most advanced treatment and rehabilitative modalities, allowing Tiger Town to be a year-round rehabilitation and training facility for Major and Minor League players. New practice mounds and a 9,000 sq ft, air-conditioned batting cage have also been constructed.

The Tigers Florida Operations have paved the way for camps and other teams to use the facilities throughout off-season. Tigers Fantasy Camp is hosted at the start of each year, allowing guests to improve their game alongside some of the Tigers’ very own, such as World Series champs Al Kaline and Mickey Lolich, with a week of coaching, training, games + a playoff series.

Since 1966, the Detroit Tigers’ facilities have continued to instill the game of baseball for a world-class athlete and anyone with a dream alike.
