As Lakelanders, we all know where “shopping is a pleasure.” And now, the country has the opportunity to learn about everyone’s favorite supermarket, Publix, after the biz ranked multiple times earlier this week in publications like Forbes and Fortune.

Publix ranked No.1 in the food and drugstores category on Fortune’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, a title the company has held for three consecutive years. As a whole, Publix ranked as the No. 42 most admired company in the world.

This particular list determines its rankings based historically on the following criteria, like:

  • The ability to attract and retain talented people
  • The quality of management
  • The social responsibility to the community and the environment
  • Its innovativeness

The supermarket chain also ranked No. 4 on Forbes Halo 100 list, beating out 96 other companies and securing the No. 1 spot in the grocer category. This particular list highlights organizations that have glowing customer service reviews, citing “great customer experiences in a responsible way.”

The list was determined via a partnership with Forbes and HundredX, formulated by feedback from over 100,000 customers and 2.8 million interactions with a variety of brands. These customers were asked to submit 75 companies that matter the most to them based on specific criteria.

While we might be biased here, we must say Publix will always rank No. 1 to us. Do you have one item you always have to snag from your local store? Share your most shopped item with us.
