We’re excited to break the news on a new first-of-its-kind development in downtown Lakeland. What is it you ask?

A 1,600+ sq. ft. femme-identifying + nonbinary coworking space. This idea grew out of The Lakeland Women’s Collective’s desire to create a space for women who were looking to connect + build relationships with each other in Polk County.

Here are the deets. ⤵️

The property will be located at 818 E. Lemon St., right behind The Poor Porker, and is tentatively scheduled to open sometime around Fourth of July weekend.

The mixed-use, two-story building will include office space for several private businesses, coworking entrepreneurs, a classroom, a large conference room, a free library, an art studio + gallery, a maker space, and a yoga/wellness studio.

This space will also be family-friendly with well-behaved children allowed while under supervision of their parents.

Here’s the type of women-focused organizations that will be housed:

    • Attorneys
    • Educational consultants
    • Microlending Foundation
    • Lifestyle coaches
    • Domestic violence, sexual assault + trafficking intervention nonprofits
    • Women’s advocacy organizations
    • Artists
    • Yoga + wellness instructors

There are hopes to expand in the future to include emergency + transitional housing for domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking survivors and their children.

This announcement bolsters Lakeland’s growing list of shared working spaces. Swan City is currently home to several collaborative work environments, including Catapult, My Office & More + The Collective at Mass Market.
