These days, we’ll take any excuse to celebrate. 🎉 Today, we want to shout out the accomplishments of a few impressive Lakeland citizens – specifically, three who graduated from Lakeland Christian School.

From clerking for Supreme Court Justices to providing healthcare around the world, meet three LCS alumni helping put Lakeland on the map:

1. Kathryn Kimball Mizelle

Lawyer 🎓 LCS class of 2005

  • Notable achievement: Clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas in the Supreme Court
  • In her words: “LCS gave me a joy for learning, but I also think it emphasized the holistic student, being involved in sports, taking on leadership roles and seeking the betterment of the community in which you’ve been placed.”

2. Tyler Rice

  • Notable achievement: Completed a fellowship with the National Institute of Health
  • In his words: “One LCS experience I will always remember warmly is Work-a-Thon, a full day of service and connecting with Lakelanders.”

3. Marris Smith Stebbins

Nurse 🎓 LCS class of 2007

  • Notable achievement: Served two stints with Mercy Ships, an international, faith-based organization that provides free healthcare throughout the world
  • In her words: “I can look back on my time spent at LCS and see how the community and curriculum have been hugely instrumental in shaping who I am today. The mission of LCS sums up how I view my life and the world around me.”

With an emphasis on high academics and 95% of students on a college prep track, it’s no surprise that LCS produces high-achieving grads. Learn more about students + alumni Lakeland can be proud of.
