The property at 211 E. Main St., located between Nineteen61 and Linkster’s Taproom, is getting a new tenant this summer. COhatch, a working + social space with locations in the Midwest, is expanding to Florida with four new locations, one of which is right here in downtown Lakeland.

Money for Lakeland organizations and startups

In 2021, COhatch donated over $700,000 to startups, nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and community leaders through the Impact Program, and hopes to exceed that number in the future as it expands.

Collaboration with existing coworking spaces

COhatch will be joining Lakeland’s existing coworking scene, working in tandem with Catapult and The Well to supplement the needs of Lakeland’s entrepreneurs and business owners. Catapult president, Christin Strawbridge, believes COhatch’s expansion to Swan City validates the growth of Lakeland’s startup and small business community. “We are proud to be a part of an expanding ecosystem alongside other great collaborative workspaces.”

Other Florida cities getting COhatch locations include Tarpon Springs, West Tampa, and St. Petersburg. The biz, founded in 2016 through a collaboration of friends focused on balancing their work and personal lives while improving the local community, hopes to have 15 locations throughout Central Florida by 2032. In addition to the four Florida locations in progress, COhatch has 30 additional locations open or under construction nationwide.
