Buckle up, buttercup. The NASCAR Hall of Fame, pimento cheese platters, and unlimited glasses of Cheerwine (also known as ‘nectar of the Tar Heels’) may all soon be a flight away from Lakeland. 🛩️

That’s right – Lakeland Linder International Airport is in talks with American Airlines – discussing the potential of starting commercial service between here and Charlotte, N.C., as early as next year.

If approved, passengers could pick between two to three flights a day to Queen City on a 70 or 90-seat plane.

This news is coming right off of an approval to allow Amazon to build a $100 million air cargo center at Lakeland Linder International Airport.
