2019 Lakeland election results + runoff info

You voted, Lakeland. Now that you’ve done your civic duty, it’s time to see the outcome. The turnout was 15.36%.

Tuesday’s elections resulted in a runoff because no candidate got at least 50% of the vote. So, election season will last a bit longer. Mark your calendar: Runoff elections are Tuesday, Dec. 3. ️

Here’s who we’ll be voting for in the runoff:

Chad McLeod4,175 votes (40.72%)
Carole Philipson3,228 votes (31.48%)

So, who won the NE District B?

Bill “Tiger” Read (incumbent) was elected for the second term. (70.18%)

Here are the voting results on the Amendments:

Amendment 1 – passed (51.9% in favor)
An Amendment to the Charter to Eliminate Obsolete Provisions, Eliminate Gender References; other Miscellaneous Provisions.

Amendment 2 – passed (65.4% in favor)
An amendment reducing terms for commissioners/mayor from 4 to 3; not applicable to incumbents.

Amendment 3 – failed (65% opposed)
An amendment changing the requirements necessary to sell any City water plant or electric utility.
