The top international water skiers of the world are coming to Winter Haven’s Lake Silver for the 2022 IWWF World Water Ski Show Tournament, marking the 100th year of the sport. Teams expected to participate include the United States, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Australia, China, and Mexico.

This tournament is part of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Foundation (IWWF), which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the authority overseeing all towed water sports. IWWF has 90+ affiliated member Federations worldwide.

Behind this exciting announcement, stand years of planning and preparation. The Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team, Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, and USA Water Ski and Wake Sports have been working together to bring the sport to Winter Haven, aka the Water Ski Capital of the World.

Since 2012, the tournament has been held every two years, and the USA Water Ski Show Team has won the team title each time. “U-S-A, U-S-A!” 🇺🇸

The 2020 competition will be held in Yarrawonga, Australia from March 20-22. And then in September 2022, we’ll see you at the Haven. Exact dates are yet to be announced. 👋

And FYI, this tournament will bring several million dollars of economic impact to Polk County.
