What is recycling?
Recycling is any process by which materials – which would otherwise become solid waste – are collected, separated, or processed + reused or returned to use as raw materials or products.
What day will my recycling be picked up?
You can view your recycling pick-up schedule here using the City of Lakeland Solid Waste Service map. Make sure to place your container at the curb by 6 a.m. on collection day.
Where should I place my recycling bin for collection day?
Your recycling and garbage bins should be placed at the curb with a minimum of 3-ft between them and any other objects, such as cars and mailboxes.

Do I need to rinse or clean my recyclables before putting them in my blue container?
Recyclables should be cleared of all liquids and food residue to prevent attracting bugs + pests.
Should I bag my recyclables in garbage bags?
No. Recyclable items can be “loose” within their blue bins.
