Lakeland has been known as a community that supports creators. Leading the movement is the Lakeland Creative Makers. But who are they? 🎨

LKLD Creative Makers is a group of creatives that meet the first Monday of every month. They come together to network with other artists, celebrate accomplishments + plan collaborations. LKLD Creative Makers connect, inspire + empower creative people to build their dream, hustle + ultimate career. Members share wisdom and encouragement with each other, helping build other gifted makers by offering advice and answering questions.

Makers are more than just “artists”. They encourage a deeper interpretation of meaning to subjects often overlooked, cause us to pause, + challenge us think in ways we may not have before. The community of LKLD Creative Maker’s has fueled, what is for many, often a individual track. Each event is free (though donations are very welcomed + appreciated) for those who work a creatives or simply enjoys the arts.

LKLD Creative Maker’s Facebook page is their prime point of contact, where members post new job opportunities and freelance work. As they facilitate artistic growth and creativity within the community, this group hasn’t gone unnoticed in central Florida, with a nearby Plant City forming their own artistic guide named “Make Plant City.”

Their next meetup will be at Cob & Pen tonight at 7:00 p.m. featuring an exclusive interview with Matt, a Florida Southern College professor, about his brand new short film My Florida Home. This is the best opportunity for inspiration, friendship + networking right in your city. Make sure to stop by for a drink and a great conversation. Can’t make it tonight? No worries. You can follow along on their stream from Facebook Live.

Want to get involved? Contact Bump Galletta or follow their Facebook + Instagram to keep up to date on all their latest happenings.

Who knows, you might just be the next Lakelander to produce a movie or paint a mural.
