Hey, LAL: We’re excited to introduce you to SPCA Florida — one of our winners of the Publix Giveback Giveaway. Get to know this local nonprofit and learn about the important work they do for the community.

Anyone who has caught the loving stare of a dog or the purring of a cat knows... all dogs and cats deserve to be cared for.

That’s the good work SPCA Florida does every day. The nonprofit has saved countless animal lives through adoption of dogs and cats (yes, you should take a peek).

They need the community’s help, though. From Sunday, Nov. 5 to Saturday, Nov. 11, SPCA Florida is partnering with the Lakeland Fire Department to accept dog + cat food donations during its 7 Days of Giving Campaign.

The goal

With the community’s support, SPCA Florida aims to collect 7,000 lbs of dog and cat food and raise $7,000 for hungry animals. Donations will be used for its 500+ adoptable dogs and cats — and 14,000 pets through its Pet Food Assistance Program.

Four ways to give

  1. Drop off dog + cat food at these seven Lakeland Fire Stations
  2. Drop off food at SPCA Florida’s Administration Office
  3. Order through SPCA Florida’s Amazon or Walmart wishlist
  4. Donate funds
