Amidst all the planning of Bonnet Springs Park, it is important to think about our hungry appetites. After all, food is the ingredient that binds people together. The park will contain several food venues, a banquet hall for special events, a fully-equipped catering kitchen, and a quick-serve restaurant for those on the go.

Bonnet Springs Park is partnering with KK&P, a national consultant for food programming + policies, to come up with a plan for a full-service, fine dining restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. A formal Request For Proposals will be due Oct. 1 for foodservice operators who want to toss in their ideas. Selections are expected to be confirmed by Dec. 3. You can find this request here.

The plan is to incorporate windows and patio space into the restaurant design that will mesh with the architecture of other buildings. So far the concept includes an affordably priced menu, popular Central Florida food, and as many locally sourced goods as possible.

Plans also call for an upscale fast-casual cafe with healthy meals and snacks in a cafeteria-like setting. It would be adjacent to Explorations V Children’s Museum and include indoor, outdoor + rooftop seating.

The thought of creating a dining destination that brings in crowds from Tampa + Orlando is appealing, because who doesn’t love Lakeland?
