Forget the old adage about a kid in a candy store. Being an adult in GreenWise Market is far more rewarding.

To celebrate the opening of GreenWise Market at The Shoppes at Lake Miriam Crossing (the first in Lakeland, opened on Dec. 12, 2019), our team took a trip to experience all that the store has to offer. From sampling all the specialty cheese to smelling the Goat Milk Soaps, one could say it was less like a shopping trip chore + more akin to a customizable adventure, with guides along the way.

What we tried (with pricing):

  • Drinks on tap from the POURS bar. A few of our favorites include Humble Bumble’s Strawberry + Basil Kombucha ($4.99) and a glass ($5-$8) of specialty wine. P.S. GreenWise is giving out free Lakeland-themed stemless wine glasses (while supplies last) with every glass of wine you purchase.

  • A rainbow of cheese flavors (free to sample) in the FINDS section – from a Cheddar Cheese with Wholegrain Mustard & Ale ($6) and a Spring Truffle Pecorino Cheese ($9.99) to a Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese with Blueberries ($7.69) and BellaVitano’s Gold Cheese ($6.29).
  • A customizable Tex Mex Chicken Bowl ($8) + a Bento Bowl ($7.99) with salmon, shrimp tempura + brown rice from EATS.

  • Smelling all the open Goat Milk Soaps in the CARE aisles (smells are free).
  • Samples. Of. Everything. Just look around the store + you’ll find samples of cheese, smoothies, chips, and more (again, free).

Don’t miss:

Asking store associates for their recommendations. We can’t stress this one enough. Here are a few examples of how GreenWise Associates acted as personalized tour guides, giving us a curated + customized shopping experience. ⬇️

  • We made BFFs with Cheese Specialist Gail from FINDS, who introduced us to a world of new flavors + gave us the history on where certain flavors hail from.
  • An EATS associate gave us a “shot of rice” to see if it was too spicy before we filled our bowls with it + gave us her #ProTip on adding avocado vinaigrette in your burrito-esque bowls.

  • A special #shoutout to the Wine Specialists who shared the inside scoop on their favorite bevvies and other POURS associates who introduced us to a kombucha flavor that didn’t taste overwhelmingly like kombucha.

What we’re still talking about:

  • The magnificent olives + antipasto bar.
  • Having a wine glass/cup holder in the cart.
  • Samples galore.
  • The (thankfully) never-ending Bulk Foods aisle.
  • The ability to try as many cheese types as your heart desires.
  • The fact that you can sit inside of a grocery store + enjoy a restaurant-quality meal.
  • #Protip: See these must-do’s on our #TryThis Instagram Story Highlight.
