Hey Lakeland, in some fairly obvious news, V-day is quickly approaching, and we’re sure there are some single people in the audience. Don’t worry, we won’t point any fingers or reveal any names. With all of these single folks living in our city, there must be a creative way to help Lakeland find love this Valentine’s Day, right? We think so...and we might have an idea.

Here’s our plan. With your help, we want to compile a list of the best local pick-up lines for breaking the 🧊 ice, without being...you know, creepy.

The keyword here is “local.” These pick-up lines must tie back to Lakeland or the Polk County area. Here are a few examples:

  • “Are you from Lakeland? Because you’re the only swan that I want.”
  • “On a scale of 1-10, you’re a 1961.”
  • “Did you go to SEU? Because you’re on FIRE.”
  • “Are you I-4? Because your curves are deadly.”
  • “You’re Hollingsworth the wait.”

Put your creative hat on, grab your quiver of love arrows, and let’s help Lakeland find love this year. 💕

Post your local pick-up line in the comments section of this Facebook post, Tweet, Instagram post, or simply by submitting your idea below.
