While the Florida heat is a completely valid excuse for not leaving your apartment all day – Fido probably thinks otherwise. No doubt he’d prefer to retrieve a ball that isn’t thrown three feet from the couch. Although he could do it all day long + be just as content.

Luckily for you, there are a plethora of places to bring your pup in Lakeland and our canine scene continues to grow.

Lakeland’s fourth official dog park is expected to open by 2020 on E Rose St + E Main St near Lake Mirror, close to Catapult 3.0 and The Joinery.

This won’t be your ordinary run-of-the-mill dog park either. According to city officials the space will be more upscale to complement downtown, feature canine playground elements + will cost *ruff-ly* $350,000 to develop.

Are you excited about this new proposed addition downtown? Currently our city has 3 dog parks: Which begs the question – Where else would you like to see more dog parks? Let us know by taking the poll below. 🐕

Ever leave the house on the weekend + feel guilty for leaving your pups locked up at home? Apparently, there’s an app for that – and it works similarly to the way Uber works for humans.

DogSpot creates climate-controlled, lockable “sidewalk sanctuaries” for dogs and has launched in places like New York City, Asheville + Ocala.

Think Lakeland would be a good fit for future DogSpot locations? Fill out this form.

In the meantime, keep staying pawsome,

Kaylee
