Mike Musick won today’s runoff election for the City of Lakeland. In Haines City, the winner of the runoff election was Anne Huffman. Read more about Anne here.

The runoff occurred after the Apr.6 Special Election for a temporary seat on the City Commission for the Southeast District. In order for a candidate to have won, a voter percentage of at least 50% had to occur, with the closest being Shandale Terrell (a special-needs educator) + Mike Musick (owner of Musick Construction and Roofing). The top two moved on to this week’s runoff.

Mike will replace former Commissioner Scott Franklin (who was recently elected to the U.S. House of Representatives). The temporary seat on the commission will last until the end of the year, where a final election will take place to fill the role for a full, four-year term.
