Whether you’re all about that ‘za or on the hunt for a fresh fruit pop to fight the Florida fall temps, feel free to start daydreaming about the vendors headed to The Joinery – Lakeland’s first food hall, coming downtown to 640 E. Main St. (next to Lake Mirror) between Nov.-Jan. 2020 (with a potential soft opening in November).

We’re honored to help break the news on the latest vendor coming to The Joinery.

🌮 Gallito Taqueria, by Chef Ferrell Alvarez (owner of Rooster & the Till in Seminole Heights, Tampa + Nebraska Mini Mart)

“We have long been fans of Chef Ferrell Alvarez and his other restaurant in Tampa, Rooster & the Till, and have been frequent patrons of Gallito since they opened about a year ago at Sparkman Wharf. We are so honored that this team is becoming, not only a part of The Joinery, but a part of our community as a whole.” – Jonathan and Sarah Bucklew

Here’s what you can expect: Duck carnitas, Pork Belly Pastor + Mango Con Chile. Swish it all down with cervezas like Victoria Lager Authentic Pacifico Clara + or try out some specialty boxed water.

🍣 Ato, by vendor Ferdian Jap (who runs Zukku Sushi at Armature Works in Tampa)

Though a full menu has not yet been released, patrons can expect poke bowls, potentially similar to ones Zukku Sushi serves. Mix + match colorful ingredients like ahi tuna, pickled onions, brown rice, grilled pineapple, and more to create a personalized masterpiece.

🍕 Ava, by owner Michael Stewart (in South Tampa)

All about that ‘za + pasta? The rustic restaurant is inspired by Italian cuisine, including unique takes on wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta. Scroll through all the drool-worthy pics here.

🍜 Sābu Ramen, by Chef Ryan Neal (from Black & Brew + Nineteen61 in Lakeland)

Lakeland’s first official ramen restaurant will feature dishes like Spicy Miso Ramen, Vegan Miso Ramen, Japanese Pancakes + gluten-free Chicken Karaage here with gochugaru-honey drizzle. King State, by founders Tim McTague + Nate Young (from King State in Tampa Heights)

Wine, coffee, pale ales + imperial stouts, and small plates are just a few of the items the roasters + brewers will offer. Fingers crossed this hearty dish of ‘balsamic roasted veggie basil pesto, goat cheese, arugula, on house-made garlic focaccia’ is included in the small dish category.

🍦 Mayday Ice Cream (sister brand of ‘The Hyppo’), by founder Stephen DiMare (from St. Augustine)

Here’s the scoop: The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops’ sister shop, Mayday Ice Cream will be serving up flavors like Queen Salted Caramel (a rich and creamy caramelized sugar ice cream with flakes of Pink Himalayan sea salt) + Lavender Melange (a light and soothing floral ice cream scented with lavender essential oils). Make plans with your sweetest friend by taking a peek at the menu.

🌼 Bonus: Bloom Shakalaka, by Laura Helm of Ashton Events + Haus 820

The flower shop that plans to sell “funky, fresh bloomshas been confirmed as The Joinery’s retail vendor. Peep this floral centerpiece to get a preview of what’s to come.

The 12,000 sq. ft. space will also have rotating brewers and will seat 350 (with 150 being outside).
