Looking to enjoy a staycation, go out for an upscale dinner, or host an event in the heart of Lakeland? Enter: The Terrace Hotel Lakeland, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, located at 329 E. Main St.

We spent a weekend at the newly-renovated, historic property, and there was plenty to love, including the stunning views of Lake Mirror right outside. Did you know the hotel opened its doors nearly 100 years ago + has a spot on the historic registry?

More than just a place to catch some sleep, the hotel is home to The Terrace Grille, which serves up some delicious bites and sips. One of its venues could even be the location of your next big event (think: wedding, showers, and more). Get ready to eat, sleep, and party — here’s what we experienced at The Terrace Hotel.👇

What we tried (with pricing):

We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at The Terrace Grille. Before you even take your seat, feast your eyes on the new mural and renovations that bring the local flora and fauna into the dining room. We recommend starting your dinner by ordering a Smoky Old Fashioned ($15) and sharing an order of the burrata cheese ($14). If you’re feeling adventurous, try the charred Spanish octopus ($18).

And don’t skip the most important meal of the day. In the morning, we tried the Lake Mirror Eggs Benny ($14) that serves up a wonderful combination of bacon, toasted brioche, poached egg, and hollandaise in every bite, served with breakfast potatoes.

What not to miss:

Calling all brides + grooms. The Terrace Hotel has 2 great event spaces available for your next event. Joining the dining room, the Lake Mirror room is perfect for dinner parties, mini-monies, or showers. The room can be made to fit your event needs with multiple floor plans, LED lighting, and nonstop views of Lake Mirror through the floor to ceiling windows.

Upstairs on the mezzanine level is the Cypress Ballroom (think: more of a traditional ballroom) with plenty of space for tables, chairs, a dance floor, and more.

The Mezzanine also features a semi-private space that can serve guests drinks from the bar + passed hors d’oeuvres, perfect for cocktail hours or bar overflow during a dinner reception.

What we’re still talking about:

As the weather cools down, time spent outdoors on the hotel’s terrace gets that much better. There are tables and chairs to enjoy your next meal al fresco, plus lovely lounges to relax on with a good book + coffee. You might also notice the large painted swan, ft. the hotel’s historic black and white patterned floors, original to the building and restored during the renovation. (Here’s how the swans landed in Lakeland. 👀)
