Today is the groundbreaking of Florida Polytechnic University’s Applied Research Center (ARC), the second academic building on the college’s campus. The two-story, 85,000 sq. ft. facility will include:

  • Research and teaching laboratories
  • Conference rooms
  • Student design spaces
  • Study areas for graduate students
  • Faculty offices

There will be a dedicated space in the ARC that focuses on innovation + applied research for new inventions that go out into the marketplace. It’s ultimately a research hub for the high-tech industry.

The ARC will be located on the northwest side of campus, adjacent to the Innovation, Science, and Technology (IST) Building. Its builder is Skanska USA, which also developed the IST Building, and the architecture firm working on the design is HOK.

A date of completion for the building has not yet been announced, but don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted.
