How do you celebrate the person who has it all? By joining mom at one of these local Mother’s Day events. Here’s where we would take every type of mother figure in our lives on Friday, May 9; Saturday, May 10 + Sunday, May 11.
For moms that are a work of art
Head to Lake Morton for Mayfaire by-the-Lake, the annual art festival that takes place every Mother’s Day weekend. Spend the day perusing the booths together and picking out a piece to take home.
For makers at heart, PicassoZ Art Cafe will be open for walk-ins during its Mother’s Day weekend event. Pop in Saturday + Sunday, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m., to design pottery and mosaics together.
For those who deserve to treat themselves
Everyone gets the princess treatment at Enchanted Fairytale Hollow’s Mother’s Day Royal High Tea on Saturday at 11 a.m. RSVP for this three-course tea party with appearances by royal characters.
If your mother prefers mimosas over tea, find them at the Mother’s Day Brunch at Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale on Saturday at 10 a.m. Kitty Cat Lounge will also serve bubbly during Moms, Meows & Mimosas on Saturday + Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Moms who can shop ‘til they drop will find plenty of treasures this weekend. Visit The Modern Pearl’s market with a complimentary flower bar on Friday, 6-8 p.m., or Keel Farms’ local vendor pop-up on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Maybe all your mother wants is a nice family photo — take it at Bok Tower Gardens.

For moms who always told you to go outside
Head to Circle B Bar Reserve for Paint in the Preserve on Saturday at 10 a.m. Parents + kids can learn about the marsh’s animal families before painting canvases together.
Finally, Bok Tower Gardens is offering free admission for all mothers on Sunday. Hear carillon concerts at 1 and 3 p.m., and grab lunch at the Blue Palmetto Cafe.
