1.1 million. That’s how many people identified as coworkers in response to a 2017 deskmag survey, and that number has only continued to grow.

With advancements in technology allowing people to work remotely + the rise of startups, more and more coworking spaces are popping up in cities around the world. 2017 saw 13,800 coworking spaces worldwide, a major increase from the 1,130 spaces in 2011.

From major coworking companies like WeWork, which boasts 676 locations internationally, to the California-based Nextspace, who opened one of the first coworking spaces in 2008, to Lakeland’s very own Catapultcoworking is changing the game in a big way.

Catapult, like other coworking spaces of its kind, offers an impressive array of amenities for its members: unlimited coffee, conference rooms, free wifi, printing capabilities, networking events and even one of those awesome phone booths. But a big bonus with Catapult is their educational offerings.

Catapult prides itself on being community-centered (you can tell their pride in place + people by scrolling their aesthetically-pleasing Instagram, @catapultLKLD). So they host several programs to help their community of entrepreneurs, creatives + startups thrive: like the CO.STARTERS CO-HORT program, LAUNCH micro-grants, Cat Walk peer-to-peer project, Entreprenu[her] events and a lot more.

Which is why we’re excited about Catapult’s new location – Catapult 3.0 – slated to open in late 2019. (Find out more about the building progress here and stay up to date by following along on Insta: @catapultLKLD.)

Along with the 38,000 sq. ft. of space (3x the size of the first location) will come community-focused infrastructure like a makerspace with 3D printers (basically magic) and programming like the Kitchen Incubator, which can support multiple food-based businesses. 🍲

Catapult is currently accepting inquiries for both spaces: the OG location and Catapult 3.0. See membership options here. Want to meet your potential new co-workers before you apply? See member highlights on their Instagram.
