With 14,000+ aircraft operations, Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) officially stands as the busiest airport in the world if just for one week.

Over 200,000 aviation gurus + fans from all over the continent have made their annual trek to Lakeland for the 45th SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In & Expo this week (April 2-7) – with hopes to see one-of-a-kind planes, stunt shows, and a myriad of exhibits on flying + aviation history.

✈️ This year’s lineup includes 50+ airshowsincluding bringing back possibly everyone’s favorite boys in blue – the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. They arrive Thurs., April 4 to perform a series of precision aerobatic maneuvers in their F-18 Hornet fighter jets.

🎟️ Daily tickets start at $39, with weekly tickets costing $150. After 5 p.m., admission is only $10. Additionally, Florida residents who purchase tickets for Saturday can receive free Sunday admission. #ProTip: The Aviation Member Associations also offer various types of member discounts and certified pilots, members of Florida Air Museum, Aviation Member Organizations, and active U.S. military members are permitted to bring one guest at the daily or weekly member rate.

🍖 For all you food fans – there will be restaurants like the Amish Bakery, Wild Bill’s Olde Fashion Soda, Demitris Greek Foods, Fred’s Market Restaurant + more.

💪 For women of the aviation community (when you’re all aircraft-ed out) – there is a ladies pavilion with a plethora of events such as Tupperware + tea parties.

🎆 Can’t make it out during the week? Don’t fret. The expo has a multitude of events on the weekend – including taking a blast to the past by touring the vintage car show, watching the Hot Air Balloon Launch Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. (coffee in tow, obviously), and viewing fireworks later that evening.
