Lakeland’s golf courses offer challenges and fun for all golfers.

We can’t think of a better way to soak in Lakeland’s greenspace than spending some time on the links. Whether you’re looking to connect outdoors with friends or you’re honing in on the perfect swing, here are 13 golf courses to make a tee time at in Swan City.

Public courses

Big Cypress Golf Club , 10000 US Hwy. 98 N., Lakeland | This 55+ community offers two 18-hole courses. The North Executive course is great for golfers of all levels, and the par 72 South Executive course offers more of a challenge.

Sanlan Golf Course , 2505 Sanlan Golf Dr., Lakeland | Play nine holes on the Alligator, Bobcat, or Coyote courses — for a longer game, you can also book 18 holes.

YMCA Par 3 , 1740 George Jenkins Blvd., Lakeland | You don’t have to be a YMCA member to play this small golf course. Pay once when you arrive and you can round the greens twice.

Grab a bite on site

Cleveland Heights Golf Course , 2900 Buckingham Ave., Lakeland | Golfing, lessons, a pro shop, and a restaurant — this course has it all. Pro tip: Check out a flyover of all 27 holes for a leg up on your competition.

Huntington Hills Golf and Country Club , 2626 Duff Rd., Lakeland | Warm up on the driving range or putting green, and then cool down from your round at the public restaurant.

Schalamar Creek Golf & Country Club , 4500 US Hwy. 92 E., Lakeland | Practice your swing with the PGA pro teacher on staff before hitting the par 72 course.

The Club at Eaglebrooke , 1300 Eaglebrooke Blvd., Lakeland | Take in the manicured greens at this course with up to 100-ft elevation changes. The course was professionally designed for seasoned golfers, but it also offers tees for beginners.

The Links of Sandpiper , 6001 Sandpipers Dr., Lakeland | The newly renovated back nine is complete with bunkers, water hazards, and other challenges that give players “the chance to use every club in their bag.”

Grasslands Golf & Country Club , 1600 Grasslands Blvd. | Become a member to use this top-ranked course. Members have access to a golf pro on staff and a full calendar of golfing events.

Highland Fairways Golf Community , 3222 Highland Fairways Blvd. | This gated 55+ community is built around an 18-hole course. It offers both annual memberships and seasonal memberships for Lakeland’s snowbirds.

Lone Palm Golf Club , 800 Lone Palm Dr. | This course was founded by George Jenkins back in 1964. Become a member for a challenging course, a Pro Shop, and golf lessons.

Family Fun Center , 4825 S. Florida Ave. | Golfers of all ages can play putt-putt around the Adventure Golf course. Watch out for the water hazards and the waterfall.

The Back Nine , 124 S. Tennessee Ave. | Take a swing on this virtual golf simulator. Play virtually on famed courses from around the world like Pebble Beach.
