Eagle-eyed Lakelanders spotted new signage for a Skechers store at the former Party City location on US Highway 98 North. There’s no official word from the company on when the store will open, but just like shoelaces, we’ll keep you in the loop.

Little Sprouts Preschool on South Tennessee Avenue closed last month, but a second Alta Schoolhouse location will take its place. Alta, which also has a preschool in the Cleveland Heights area, will serve up to 87 children in the new school, including 1-year-olds. An opening date is TBD. (LkldNow)

Popular Winter Haven burger joint Adler’s will open its next location in downtown Auburndale on Monday, April 13. That’s not the only upcoming development. The new Revel Jane’s bar will serve refreshing bevs next door.

If it’s been a minute since you’ve visited By the Chef Pizza, it’s time to swing by for another slice.
The pizzeria has been selling out consistently since it opened in Dixieland early last year — but in good news for hungry fans, it has just added a second pizza oven to double its capacity.
The menu has also grown to include nine deep-dish focaccia pizzas, five huge New York-style pies, and whatever new weekly creation Chef Pete Garces has crafted. My favorite is still The OG, topped with house-made tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, and Parmesan.
