Plan Ahead
🗓️ March your calendar

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. We’re ready for whatever this month brings thanks to these markets, music events, and more must-dos.
The Art of Tablescaping | Saturday, March 7 | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. | The Junior League of Greater Lakeland Building | $25+ | Learn how to be the host with the most at the Tablescape Designer Showcase.
Spring Obsession | Saturday, March 14 | 8 a.m.-3 p.m. | Munn Park | Free+ | Shop for specialty plants in the park at Lakeland’s biggest garden event of the season.
Meet the Easter Bunny | Saturday, March 28 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Lakeside Village | Free | Registration for this event opens this Saturday, Feb. 28, so hop to it if you want to snag a time slot.
After Party Vol. 1 | Saturday, March 28 | 5:30 p.m. | Dixieland Relics | $10 | Phoenix5 and Julep Band will provide the evening’s soundtrack while you mingle with creatives + music lovers.
The ribbon is officially cut at the Holloway Family Trail. This multipurpose path connects to the Fort Fraser Trail down Highway 98 South, allowing bikers, runners, and walkers to travel from Lakeland to Bartow.
Closing
Head up, art fans. The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art will be closed for a private event tomorrow, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1. In the meantime, browse the exhibitions at these local museums.
Travel
Start thinking about autumn travel plans, because Avelo just extended its flight schedules through mid-November. If fall foliage is what you seek, you can’t beat New Haven, CT in October.
Active
Bartow’s Bloomin’ Bike Ride might be the most fun you’ll have on two wheels this spring. It takes place Saturday, March 7, with options for a 15-mile family ride, a 35-mile ride, or a 65-mile route along scenic backroads. Registration starts at $30. (The Ledger)
Job
Think you have what it takes to work with a James Beard Award-nominated team? Born & Bread Bakehouse is looking for a general manager with experience in the food + beverage industry — and a taste for cruffins, we assume.
Arts
Celebrate 40 years of Lakeland Community Theatre at the Center Stage Gala. Performers of the past and present will come back together on stage at the Polk Theatre on Saturday, April 18. Following the show, there’s also a ticketed afterparty at Eala’s Speakeasy.
If you’re reaching for fewer sodas or cocktails, Bruusta gives you a fizzy option on tap in your fridge: fresh, low-sugar kombucha, brewed at home with almost no effort. Join the flexible Brew Plan and get 50% off to start your wellness-minded beverage journey.*
You deserve a spa day. Why not plan it at the newly redesigned Skin Thermea? We visited a few years ago for the indulgent head spa experience, but it’s recently upped its game with a new outdoor oasis.
The wellness spa is available for private bookings for up to two people. Heat things up with the infrared sauna + cedar hot tub, take a dip in the pool, or have a self-care moment with the facial bar and lymphatic drainage station. You can also add skin and body treatments for full-package pampering.
Merit’s Signature Lip Blush, aka the lipstick we want to live every day in. This lightweight, sheer-matte formula applies with the comfort of a nourishing balm, leaving a soft, blurred wash of color that feels like nothing on the lips. Choose your favorite shade, from warm sheer nude Vendôme to brick red September.
Lakeland is a breeding ground for future music stars — and I’m lucky enough to call a few of them friends. See Dylan Dames at Union Hall on Saturday, catch a concert by KARY on Friday, March 20 at Tastee Central, and listen to Zach John King’s new interview with 99.5 QYK, where he reminisces on his time in Lakeland.
