A message from our team

It’s 6AM somewhere — in fact, if you’re reading this at 9 a.m. local time, it’s 6 a.m. in our sister market SEAtoday. Which brings us to our main point: Did you know there are newsletters just like LALtoday across the country, providing the same need-to-know local news and events for their communities?

From sharing live music venues in Portland, OR to reporting on new developments in Greenville, SC, our company works hard to be local, everywhere. Support our mission.

Legacy

Clifton Lewis died this week at 82 years old. Lewis led the cause to restore the historic L.B. Brown House in Bartow, and he founded the L.B. Brown Heritage Festival that takes place at the home. The 25th annual festival is still on for February. (The Ledger)

Taco Bell is selling a Baja Blast-flavored pie this Thanksgiving. The drink’s signature tropical lime flavor has been turned into a filling on a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream. Post of the Day

This alligator deserves a round of applause. The Florida Children’s Museum Blinky climber, designed by Gyroscope Inc., won a Merit Award in the 2025 SEGD Global Design Awards. It’s one of just 30 projects to receive a nod this year.

The 100-ft-long play structure, inspired by Lakeland’s communal pet of the 1970s, is full of spots for kids to climb and slide. One awards juror said, “Even as an adult, I want to play in it!” Same. Explore it with your family at the Florida Children’s Museum.
