If you prefer to leave it to the pros, don’t miss Art Wars, where 10 artists will compete to create large works of art with surprise materials. Muralist Jon Sierra and glass blower Kari Fenstermaker will also work their magic on-site.

It’s not just about visual arts either. There will be street + tent performances throughout the day from the FrediDANCE Project, Harrison School for the Arts, and DJ Jenks.
You gotta park before you crawl. The roads around Swan Brewing will be closed to traffic, so find a spot on the street or in a public parking lot within walking distance with our downtown parking guide.
Save the schedule to plan your day, and let us know which activity you’re going to crawl run to first.

🎞️ We’re going back to Hollywood
Foster’s Hollywood might not exist in the US any longer, but it still has a significant presence across the pond in Spain + Portugal. | Photo by Ricardo Ricote RodrĂguez via Wikimedia Commons
When we received an email recently from our reader Linda F. inquiring after a restaurant they remembered off of US Highway 98 North that featured an airplane for patrons to dine in — but couldn’t place the name of it — we knew exactly who to put on the case.
All it took was this small amount of information for our Facebook followers to sleuth out an answer: Foster’s Hollywood.
Founded by four Americans living overseas in Spain in the 1970s, Foster’s Hollywood offered classic American comfort foods ranging from TexMex to “burgers on the barbecue.” Around 1994-1995, the chain expanded into the US and opened seven locations across Florida, including one in Lakeland.
A whole room space heater. Save $30 on a small but mighty space heater with a focus on safety — it has tip-over protection, a cool touch case, and will automatically shut off if overheated.
November is probably one of my favorite months of the year. Not only is it my birthday month and the month I’m getting married, but it’s the start of holiday events in Lakeland. If you see me putting up my Christmas tree this weekend, mind your business.
