Who can you call at City Hall?

Who’s my Lakeland City Commissioner?

The Lakeland City Commission Chamber as seen from the audience seats. It features a large semicircular desk with name placards for commission members, and a podium with a microphone for speakers. Behind the desk are a US flag, State of Florida flag, and the City of Lakeland logo on the wall.

March 11-15 is Civic Learning Week, which aims to get citizens across the country engaged with the government. Start right here at home by getting to know the Lakeland City Commissioners.

Who represents me?

The city commission is made up of the mayor, two commissioners at-large who represent the entire city, and four commissioners who represent specific districts: northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast.

To find your representatives, use this interactive map and pinpoint your address to see which members represent your district.

Pro tip: If you live outside the city limits (think: in places like the Combee, Lakeland Highlands, and Kathleen areas), you may not have a city commissioner. Instead, find your Polk County Commissioner.

How can I get involved?

If you have a question or concern you’d like addressed, each commissioner and the mayor can be reached via email. You can also email all members of the commission at citycommission@lakelandgov.net.

Prefer to be in the room where it happens? City commission meetings are open to the public and occur on the first and third Monday of each month at City Hall. Read our tips on attending and how to make comments before you go.

Another way to get involved is through elections. Commission members are elected for four-year terms. The most recent election in 2023 included one at-large seat and the northeast and northwest district seats. Elections for mayor, the other at-large seat, and the southwest + southeast district seats will take place in 2025.
