Polk State Lakeland Collegiate High School is making the grade, earning the county’s highest score in the 2024-2025 statewide school grades report. It earned 98% of its possible points, thanks in part to its 100% graduation rate.
Legacy
Polk County School Board member Rick Nolte has died at the age of 69 after several months of medical leave. Nolte was a teacher in Polk, Orange, and Hillsborough counties before being elected to the school board in 2022. Superintendent Fred Heid said information on filling his seat is TBA.
