A new referendum could generate money for teacher raises through a four-year, 1 mill ad valorem property tax. Lake Wales announced that its downtown Arts, Culture and Entertainment (ACE) District will start up this fall, allowing visitors to take alcohol from participating restaurants + bars to other spots within the ACE district.
