In a recent report from Realtor.com, Lakeland ranked as the third-easiest market for homebuyers in 2024, meaning buyers have more power here. Rankings were based on a variety of factors, including the year-over-year shift in median list price.

In Lakeland, that median listing price for 2024 comes in at $349,900 — down from $355,150 this time last year. This got us thinking: how much house can you expect to get if you were to pay that median price?

What we discovered

Note: To keep things simple, we stuck to Realtor.com to source all data mentioned.

As of today, there are 186 homes (including houses, condos, townhomes, multifamily properties, and mobile homes) available for sale in Lakeland listed between $300,000 and $349,900. Within that price range, here are some things that Lakelanders can expect to get for their money.
  • Average number of bedrooms: 3
  • Average number of bathrooms: 2
  • Average square footage: 1,250+
We know the next question you might be asking — where exactly can I find these homes in Lakeland?

The zip codes with the most homes available that meet all the above criteria are 33809 and 33810 (think: the north Lakeland and Socrum/Kathleen areas), with 30+ homes available in each. The zip code with the least amount of homes available that meet this criteria is 33812, better known as the Highland City area, with less than five homes available.

Putting it into practice

Using the information above, these homes are right on par with what Lakelanders can expect on the market today. Bonus: Each one aligns with a different homebuying priority that our readers previously shared with us — from location, to square footage, to amenities.
