• Curry Leaves Indian Restaurant announced that it will open its Lakeland location on Monday, July 15 at the Quality Inn & Suites (3260 US Hwy. 98 N.). Lunch hours are 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and dinner will be 5-10 p.m.

• 96%. That’s how many of the animals that entered SPCA Florida’s shelter were saved last year. This means that the organization maintains its status as a no-kill shelter according to the national Best Friends Animal Society.

• The Winn-Dixie at 6902 S. Florida Ave. is set to close soon, according to new signage. The closure comes after last year’s announcement that Aldi would purchase the Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket brands.
