A K-8 charter school for children in migrant families is opening this fall in Mulberry. The dual language school will instruct students in Spanish and English. In addition to K-8 students, the program also has a “parent university” focusing on language, health, and technology. (The Ledger)

Winter Haven’s Central Florida Aerospace Academy is now open. The career academy is an expansion of the original program — a partnership between Kathleen High School and Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. At the new academy, students can gain hands-on experience in aviation, aerospace, and engineering lessons.
Development
The Lake Wales City Commission unanimously approved a land code revision that will pave the way for Advanced Drainage Systems’ new facility. The plant’s fate now lies with Lake Wales’ city planning staff, which will vote on a later date. (The Ledger)
