  • The Red Door and Patio 850 have closed — but new things are on the way. While details are TBA, the former Red Door has been purchased by restaurateurs bringing a new concept. Patio 850, which closed last month following the death of chef Patrick Rene Schaefer, will reopen as The Patio. (LkldNow)

  • 1.8 million. That’s how many pounds of food Central Florida Health Care’s food program distributed in Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties last year. In addition to food, the nonprofit helps rural Central Florida families access medical and dental care. (The Ledger)

  • The Lake Wales City Commission unanimously approved a land code revision that will pave the way for Advanced Drainage Systems’ new facility. The plant’s fate now lies with Lake Wales’ city planning staff, which will vote on a later date. (The Ledger)
