The new owners ofLakeland Town Center — formerly known as Searstown — are planning to restore the shopping center. NAACP Lakeland Branch President Terry Coney is hosting a community program in honor of Black History Month. The program will feature local civil rights leaders and a documentary screening. SPCA Florida and the Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC) are already preparing to save animals during the 2023 hurricane season. You can donate online to help FL SARC reach its $10,000 goal before the season starts on June 1.
