Polk Pride is back: Here’s the 2023 event roundup

Check out the event lineup, from family-friendly events in the park to interfaith celebrations, Pride on Tap, and a visit from the Alzheimer’s Association Brain Bus.

There’s plenty to be proud of in Polk.

Polk Pride is back and prouder than ever. From June 10-17, Lakeland will be honoring the LGBTQ+ community with a slew of events. If you want to keep up with all the pride around Swan City this month, here’s the rundown.

With a week full of events, there’s something for everyone.

Pride in Polk
Polk Pride is an event of the Lakeland Youth Alliance, a nonprofit organization that provides support for LGBTQ+ youth. The annual Polk Pride event works towards that mission by raising awareness and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.

Event round-up

  • Pride on Tap | Saturday, June 10 | 2-5 p.m. | Swan Brewing, 115 W. Pine St., Lakeland | Free entry | The whole family can join in on raffles and auction items to benefit Polk Pride
  • Pride for Youth | Wednesday, June 14 | 6:30-9 p.m. | United Women’s Club, 1515 Williamsburg Sq., Lakeland | Free | Those ages 11-17 are welcome to join the Lakeland Youth Alliance Pride Party.
  • Pride in Faith | Thursday, June 15 | 7 p.m. | Beacon Hill Fellowship, 220 W. Beacon Rd., Lakeland | Free | All faiths are welcome at this service hosted by faith partners who stand in support of Pride.
  • Pride Kickoff | Friday, June 16 | 9 p.m.-2 a.m. | The Parrot, 1030 E. Main St., Lakeland | Free entry | Get Pride weekend going with drinks, dancing, and drag.
  • Pride in the Park | Saturday, June 17 | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. | Munn Park | Free entry | The whole family is welcome at this festival with live entertainment, food trucks, and vendors.
  • Pride After Dark | Saturday, June 17 | 9 p.m.-2 a.m. | Lkld Live at Rec Room, 202 N. Massachusetts Ave., Lakeland | $15 | Close out Pride with this after party — 21+ only, please.

All aboard the Brain Bus
The Alzheimer’s Association Brain Bus will be at Pride in the Park on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Stop by to meet with trained Alzheimer’s Association staff to learn about local resources, caregiving, and diagnosis. Services are free — no appointment is necessary.

How to get involved
We love a party, but Pride is also prime time to give back. Donations to the Youth Alliance help provide life-saving support to LGBTQ+ youth in our community.
