Let’s talk Tigers tickets

The Detroit Tigers are back for Spring Training, beginning with a home game this Sunday, Feb. 22. We pitched it to readers to see which topic you wanted to learn more about, and 55% said tickets + parking. Consider this Ballpark 101.
The tickets
We recommend buying tickets online so you can select your seats. The cheapest options are the Berm grass seating or the standing-room-only Runway seating in the left + right outfields, respectively. For the luxury experience, upgrade to the 34 Club, where tickets include food and beverages.
If you plan to make the ballpark your second home this season, consider spring season tickets.
Use this map to make sure you + your crew arrive to the game without getting stuck in construction zones.

The parking
Parking is now cashless. Pro tip: Buy yours in advance to save a few dollars or upgrade to a premium spot. Use the parking map to find a route that avoids construction on Lakeland Hills Boulevard as much as possible.
Citrus Connection will also offer its complimentary Tigertown Express service to games once again this year.

Quiet on the set, because the team behind a new mini-series based on the book “A Land Remembered” is eyeing film locations in our area. The 1984 novel by Patrick D. Smith covers three generations of cattle ranchers, and Polk County could provide the perfect “Old Florida” backdrop.
In the Board of County Commissioners’ agenda review study on Jan. 30, filmmaker Todd Wiseman Jr. compared his independently produced series to “Lonesome Dove.” He said to expect four-episode seasons, with the first expected to cost $25 million. We’re keeping an eye out for production updates.

“A Land Remembered” was required reading for my fifth-grade class, and young Connor was not a fan. However, local cattle rancher Cary Lightsey also spoke about the mini-series at the agenda review study, and he said to expect beautiful settings, wildlife, and drama, just like you’ll find on “Yellowstone.” In that case, I’ll be tuning in.
