One of the largest terminal projects to debut in the US in recent years opens today. Orlando International Airport (MCO)’s entirely new Terminal C includes exciting traveler enhancements designed to better serve the demands of projected passenger growth and the needsof the diverse Central Florida community. The first flights out of the terminalwill take off tomorrow on Tues., Sept. 20.
Here’s a look at what the new expansion means for anyone traveling through MCO.
Terminal C, by the numbers:
12 million: That’s how many passengers Terminal C isexpected to serve annually. The increased capacity of the new terminal will make it possible for the airport to serve 50+ million total passengers annually.
15: The number of new gates which will accommodate up to 20 aircraft serving domestic and international airlines.
1.8 million: The square footage Terminal C will add to Orlando International Airport.
23: The food + bev locations within Terminal C, featuring flavors from several Central Florida brands including Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co., Wine Bar George, Orlando Brewing Bar & Bites, Sunshine Diner by Chef Art Smith + more.
10: The airlines operating out of the new terminal, including Aer Lingus, Azul, British Airways, Caribbean, Emirates, Gol, Icelandair, JetBlue, Lufthansa, and Norse.
11: The retail locations in Terminal C for last-minute preflight needs.
1: The number of lounges in Terminal C — meet the Plaza Premium Lounge. For travelers looking to disconnect from it all before boarding their flight, this will be the ultimate go-to spot, featuring adedicated area for families, a restaurant and bar, and quiet spaces for business travelers.

The 17th Annual Aching Quad Challenge is just around the corner on Fri., Oct. 7-Sat., Oct. 8.
Participation is capped at 260 participants, and at the time of this newsletter, there were just under 50 spots left. Interested runners can register here for $45 — registration fees will increase to $55 this Fri., Sept. 23.
